Open versus closed view autorefraction in young adults

چکیده

Abstract Purpose While there are numerous studies comparing open-view autorefractors to subjective refraction or other autorefractors, most between closed and autorefraction tend focus on children rather than young adults. The aim of this study was determine the concordance in non-cycloplegic refractive error two modern objective autorefractors: closed-view monocular Topcon TRK-2P binocular Grand Seiko WR-5500. Methods Fifty adults aged 20–29 years (mean age 22?±?1.6 years) underwent using WAM-5500 (open view) (closed-view) both eyes. Findings were expressed as isolated spherical component also converted from clinical vector notation: Mean Spherical Error (MSE) astigmatic components J0 J45. Results MSE?±?SD ?1.00?±?2.40D for compared ?1.23?±?2.29D TRK-2P. Up seventy-six percent cohort had mean errors which fell within ±0.50D reading 58% ±0.25D. differences instruments statistically significant all (J0, spherical, MSE) (p? ?0.05). Conclusions MSE these small, but significant. From a perspective may serve useful starting point refraction, additional work is needed help further minimise instruments.

Olfactory event-related potentials in young and elderly adults: evaluation of tracking task versus eyes open/closed recording.

The purpose of the present study was to evaluate olfactory event-related potentials (OERPs) elicited by amyl acetate from subjects performing a visuomotor tracking task compared with the no-task conditions of eyes open and eyes closed. Task condition did not produce any reliable effects for any amplitude measure. Task type weakly influenced only P2 latency. Elder adults evinced smaller P2 and N...

Closed Reduction versus Open Reduction and Pin Fixation in Pediatric Type III Supracondylar Humeral Fractures

Background Supracondylar humeral fractures constitute about 60% and 13% of all pediatric elbow and pediatric skeletal fractures, respectively, with a peak incidence in the 5-7 years age group. The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare closed reduction with open reduction and pin fixation in type III supracondylar humeral fractures in children younger than...

Closed versus Open Innovation: Evolution or Combination?

The concept of open innovation has attracted great interest from the academic and industrial sectors alike. Despite the ongoing debate, we can see some lack of consistency of its principles. The purpose of this paper is to set out a conceptual reflection on the foundations of innovation and its process and discuss new proposals from the literature on open innovation. We question whether this co...

Open - Interval Graphs versus Closed - Interval Grap

A graph G = (V, E) is said to be represented by a family F of nonempty sets if there is a bijection f:V--*F such that uv ~ E if and only iff(u)Nf(v)q=~. It is proved that if G is a countable graph then G can be represented by open intervals on the real line if and only if G can be represented by closed intervals on the real line, however, this is no longer true when G is an uncountable graph. S...
